It’s that time of year again – time to bring out the Tequila and the salsa and celebrate all things Mexican. The day started as a relatively small commemoration of the Mexican victory over France in the Battle of Puebla in 1862, but has now become a much wider celebration of all things Mexican, especially in Mexican-American communities across the US. The heritage of Mexico within America is incredibly rich, and after celebrations of the day were revived in the 1960s, the 5th May has become a day for good food, good drinks, and a good party.
We’ve put together a run-down of our favorite party decorations, food, and drink suggestions to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in style.
These party decorations will get everyone in the mood to celebrate, even if the day itself falls midweek – but Cinco de Mayo only comes around once a year, so make sure you’re celebrating even if the celebrations have to finish a little early.
No Cinco de Mayo party would be complete without a serious amount of food, of course all classically Mexican.
We hope you have a fantastic Cinco de Mayo, however you’ll be celebrating! For more party ideas you can check out our Cinco de Mayo board here.
