Happy World Oceans Day! Let’s Celebrate, Shall We?

“My soul is full of longing
for the secret of the sea,
and the heart of the great ocean
sends a thrilling pulse through me.”
– Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Out of all the new holidays that we’ve been celebrating recently, World Oceans Day is my favorite – coming in closely with National Donut Day. I love donuts a lot, and I do mean a lot, but the majesticness of the sea is the reason that this upcoming holiday has my heart just a tad bit more. I was born near the ocean, and I lived near it until I was almost 14-years-old. Although there is a fervent sense of nostalgia that I feel whenever I’m gazing at Ms. Wavy Blue, I believe that the reason that I share a special kinship with the sea is because it’s a place I visit to face myself. Wowza, that’s super deep for a shopping site, isn’t it?

Everything about the ocean is real. When we gaze into the abyss of it, we’re aware of how real we are. We’re staring into something that’s not plagued by the laws of humankind, or by anything material. The ocean lives by rules that are foreign to us. And the ocean is deep – both literally and figuratively. Its depths see that we are made aware of how deep and how very complex we are.

Okay, I channeled Herman Melville enough today. On to some fun shopping!

I have to start this shopping spree of with some of my favorite products from Lush. It’s one of my favorite stores, and this face and body scrub does wonders for your skin. This bath bomb will spruce up your bath game and leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth long after your bath is over.

Get these plush toys for your kiddos (or yourself, no judgement!)

Beach accents make your home oh-so-cozy.

Entertain yourself with these! Disney’s Oceans is *surprise, surprise* my favorite documentary of all-time.

Go under the sea with these Little Mermaid products.

This mug and tote don’t really belong in any of the above categories, but I like them too much not to show them off.

Fishing for more? Dive into the rest of the Under the Sea Collection!

Also, listen to this song just because it’s one of the best.
