The holiday season is here, and with that comes parties, ice skating, family get-togethers, and more. These super simple yet classic holiday looks will keep you at the top of your makeup game this year so you have more time to focus on the important things, like curating your ugly Christmas sweater collection!
Adele’s 25 CD cover, a close up of her gorgeous face, ensured that the cat eye would be a staple this holiday season. A simple cat eye is a great transitional look that you can wear to work as well as to a party after work. It makes a great statement by itself, or you can spice it up by adding glitter along the lower lashline and above the liner on your lid. To achieve Adele’s iconic look, first grab a liquid liner-like these from Maybelline-and wing it out from the middle of your eye to approximately half a centimeter from your outer corner. You can darken and thicken the line with some gel eyeliner from Smashbox (I also just discovered these angled eyeliner brushes by e.l.f. Cosmetics, and my makeup life will never be the same!). Line your upper waterline with a soft pencil liner like these from Urban Decay or Too Faced. Finish off with a double dose of mascara. Benefit’s They’re Real is like falsies in a tube, and you can get a great quality dupe at drugstore prices with Maybelline’s Falsies.

The holiday season is the perfect time to rock a classic red lip, just like fashionista Rita Ora. To get this look, make sure your lips are moisturized. Then, use a bold red lip liner to keep your lipstick from bleeding. This season, courtesy of Kylie Jenner, it’s all about overlined lips, so line directly outside your natural lip line with NARS’ Dragon Girl. This will help you from straying into Real Housewives-style territory! Fill it in with a red lipstick. Matte lipstick, such as MAC’s Ruby Woo, has great pigmentation on all skin tones, whereas lipstick textures advertised as glossy or satin will be less vibrant on deeper skin tones.

Follow in Ayesha Curry’s footsteps and master the fresh-faced complexion trend this holiday season. This time of year can seem like a marathon of late nights, so taking care of your skin is key. Start out with a great moisturizer, like this one from Cetaphil. If you have circles under your eyes, apply concealer from just under your lashline to below the end of the circle. Yellow-toned concealers, such as this duo from Bobbi Brown, will even out your skin tone. You can use a light BB cream like this one from Dr.Jart+ or a full-coverage foundation, depending on your taste. Make sure to pick a dewy foundation like this one from Laura Mercier to keep your face looking well-rested! Finally, highlight and contour as much or as little as you want.
